Machakos University successfully held a Career Day on 2nd April, 2025, an event designed to equip final-year students with essential career insights and facilitate their smooth transition into the workforce. Organized by the Office of the Dean of Students, under the leadership of Dr. James Karau, Ms. Ruth Munene from the Career Services Office, the event provided a platform for students to interact with the Machakos University Alumni and industry professionals to gain valuable career guidance.

Mr. Stephen Kibe (MksU Alumni): Emphasized the importance of adaptability in the job market, learning new technologies such as AI, financial discipline, and investment strategies, while also addressing societal pressures that students encounter.
Ms. Elnorah Chao (MksU Alumni): Focused on skills development, career readiness, and upskilling, highlighting the importance of social, financial, and human assets. She concluded with the powerful message: “Something you don’t change is something that you choose.”
Ms. Mary Mutula (MksU Alumni Chair): Outlined the role of the Machakos University Alumni Association and the Alumni Relations Office and the various opportunities available for students to engage and benefit from alumni networks.
The keynote speaker of the event, CPA Moses Mwariri: Provided expert advice on CV writing, interview techniques, grooming, flexibility, and networking strategies, reinforcing the idea that “It is never too late to change and become a new you.”
Vice Chancellor, Prof. Joyce Agalo, expressed gratitude to the speakers and commended students for their active participation, emphasizing Machakos University’s promise to holistic student development.
